CovioIQ vs Acturis
These are not the same kind of product, and the comparison is more useful once that is said plainly. Acturis sells a platform that includes the broker management system. CovioIQ is a CRM that runs beside the management system you already have. The right question is not which is better, it is which job you are trying to fill.
What each one is
Acturis
A cloud platform for general insurance, sold to brokers, insurers and MGAs. Acturis describes it as the only system that includes your BMS, rater, CMS and CRM in one place, alongside e-trading and claims management. If what you need is a management system, it is a candidate.
CovioIQ
A CRM for Canadian brokerages: client and policy records, a renewal pipeline that fills itself 90 days before expiry, rule-based churn-risk and lead scores that show their reasons, and cross-sell gaps. It is not a management system and does not try to be one.
Where CovioIQ does less, on purpose
Worth reading before a trial, because these are not on a roadmap you can wait for.
- No accounting or commissions processing.
- No carrier download and no rating engine.
- No document generation or e-signature.
- No MGA features: no sub-broker hierarchies, commission splits or binding authority.
- No live BMS synchronisation yet. Clients and policies come in by CSV today.
The integrations page tracks what is live, in development and planned, and is kept honest about the difference.
What CovioIQ is good at
- Renewals surface themselves 90 days before expiry instead of waiting to be searched for.
- Churn-risk and lead scores show the fields behind the number, so a broker can disagree with them.
- Cross-sell gaps across auto, home, life, business and health on the clients you already have.
- English and French, with data hosted in Canada.
- Published flat pricing in CAD from $49 a month, with a free trial and no quote to request.
Which one fits
Choose Acturis when
- You are replacing the management system itself.
- You need rating, e-trading or claims handling in the same platform.
- You need accounting and commissions in one place.
- You are an insurer or MGA, not only a brokerage.
Choose CovioIQ when
- The management system is staying and the gap is renewals and retention.
- You are running the book out of spreadsheets and want structure first.
- You want to see a price and start without a sales process.
- You want scores you can audit rather than a number with no reasons.
On pricing
CovioIQ publishes its plans: $49 to $349 CAD a month, billed monthly or annually. Acturis does not publish pricing and asks you to request a demo, so a like-for-like figure is not something this page can give you honestly. Ask them directly and compare against the number above.
Information about Acturis on this page was taken from acturis.ca and acturis.ca/product and checked on September 22, 2026. Products change; verify anything that will drive a purchase.
