CovioIQ vs Maximizer for Canadian insurance brokerages
Both are Canadian, and both sell to insurance teams, so this is a closer comparison than most on this site. Maximizer is a long-established CRM with a financial services edition covering wealth and insurance. CovioIQ only does insurance brokerage. The honest split is pricing shape and how you buy, not one being "for insurance" and the other not.
What each one is
Maximizer
A Canadian CRM sold in a Core edition and a Financial Services edition aimed at wealth, insurance and financial services teams. Their insurance pages describe policy data beside client records, pre-built dashboards, and workflows triggered by renewal and review dates. Priced per user, per month, in CAD.
CovioIQ
A CRM for Canadian insurance brokerages only: client and policy records, a renewal pipeline that fills itself 90 days before expiry, rule-based churn-risk and lead scores that always show their reasons, and cross-sell gaps. Flat price per plan rather than per seat. Not a broker management system.
Where Maximizer is ahead today
Maximizer's insurance pages state that it imports insurance policy data from more than 11 Canadian carriers. CovioIQ has no live carrier integrations. Carrier and BMS connections are on our roadmap with no committed date, and we say so on the integrations page. Policies get into CovioIQ by CSV import or by typing them.
If automatic carrier download is the thing that decides this for you, that is a real reason to choose something else, and we would rather you learn it here than after you have moved your book.
What it costs
Both publish prices in CAD, which makes this unusually easy to compare. The difference is the shape: Maximizer charges per user, CovioIQ charges per plan.
| Plan | List price | 5 users |
|---|---|---|
| Maximizer Core | $90 CAD per user, per month | $450 CAD |
| Maximizer Financial Services | $100 CAD per user, per month | $500 CAD |
| Maximizer Financial Services + | $125 CAD per user, per month | $625 CAD |
| CovioIQ Team | $149 CAD per month, up to 5 users | $149 CAD |
Maximizer's prices are their published list prices, read on September 26, 2026. The five-user column is arithmetic on those figures, not a quote from them, and it ignores any discount they may offer. CovioIQ also sells Solo at $49 and Solo Pro at $79 for a single user, and Agency at $349; see pricing.
How you buy
On September 26, 2026, every call to action on Maximizer's insurance and pricing pages was to book a demo, and neither page mentioned a free trial. CovioIQ gives you a 14-day trial with no credit card, and a live demo with sample data you can open without talking to anyone.
That difference matters most to a small brokerage that wants to load its own book and judge the thing for itself before a sales conversation.
When Maximizer is the better choice
- You want policy data pulled from Canadian carriers automatically rather than imported. CovioIQ cannot do that today.
- Your practice spans wealth and insurance and you want one system across both. CovioIQ is insurance brokerage only.
- You need deep customisation, an on-premise deployment, or an enterprise implementation team. Maximizer sells all three; CovioIQ is cloud-only and deliberately simple.
Moving a book from Maximizer
Maximizer lists data export among its features, so the path is an export to CSV and then the CovioIQ importer, which maps clients and policies and tells you what it could not read instead of failing silently. Renewals rebuild themselves from policy expiry dates once policies are in, so a renewal pipeline is not something you migrate by hand.
Information about Maximizer on this page was taken from maximizer.com, including its pricing and insurance pages, and checked on September 26, 2026. Maximizer is a trademark of its owner; CovioIQ is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Maximizer. Products and prices change, so verify anything that will drive a purchase.
