CovioIQ vs AgencyZoom for Canadian brokers
Both are a CRM layer that sits on top of the system already holding your policies. Neither replaces it. The real difference is which country each was built for, and it decides most of the rest.
We make CovioIQ, so read this knowing that. Everything below about AgencyZoom was read from their own website on September 27, 2026 and is linked at the foot of the page. Where we could not establish something, it says so rather than guessing.
The short answer. If you are a US agency, especially a captive agent, AgencyZoom is the more complete product and it is not close: it has AMS integration on its cheapest tier, two-way email and texting, a rater integration and mobile apps. If you are a Canadian brokerage that wants renewal and retention workflow, bilingual software and your data in Canada, those advantages mostly stop mattering at the border, and CovioIQ starts at a quarter of the price.

Where AgencyZoom is genuinely ahead
Three gaps, and we are not going to talk you out of them.
- AMS integration. Their pricing page lists it on every tier, including the $149 one. CovioIQ has none: your book comes in by CSV, and the connections to Applied Epic, Vertafore SIG and Power Broker are marked planned on our integrations page with no committed dates. If you need live two-way sync with your management system today, we are not the answer.
- Two-way email and texting. They list both. CovioIQ sends nothing to your clients: Alex will draft a renewal email for you, and you send it from your own mail. That is a real limitation, not a privacy feature.
- Mobile apps. They ship iOS and Android. CovioIQ is responsive web, which works well on a phone but is not the same thing as a home-screen app with push notifications.
Where CovioIQ is the better fit
- It was built for Canada. Brokerage rather than agency, CAD pricing, data in AWS Canada Central, a French interface for the whole application rather than translated marketing pages, and PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25 taken seriously. AgencyZoom's site is aimed at US agencies, including the captive channels that barely exist here.
- Price at the small end. CovioIQ starts at $49 CAD a month. Their entry tier is $149 with seven seats. For a one or two person brokerage that is a large gap; for a seven-person office the seat allowance narrows it considerably, so do the arithmetic for your own team rather than taking the headline.
- Retention scoring that shows its working. Every open renewal gets a 0–100 churn score built from premium change at renewal, client tenure, policy count and how long since contact was logged, with the contributing reasons and a confidence figure displayed beside it. It is a transparent rule set, not a model, and we say so on the churn scoring page. We did not find equivalent retention scoring in AgencyZoom's public materials.
- You can start today. CovioIQ is self-serve on a 14-day trial with no card. AgencyZoom also offers a 14-day trial, and states that training and onboarding take two to four weeks on average.
What each one costs
AgencyZoom publishes its prices, which is unusual in this market and worth crediting. Read on September 27, 2026, their independent-agency tiers were Essential at $149, Growth at $199 and Pro at $349 per month, each including up to seven users. Separate lower tiers are listed for captive agents. Their pricing page does not state a currency.
CovioIQ is $49, $79, $149 and $349 a month in Canadian dollars, with annual billing charged for ten months. The full breakdown, including what each plan includes, is on our pricing page.
Compare like for like: convert to one currency, count the seats you actually need, and add the cost of whatever you are not getting. If an AMS integration is what makes the product work for you, that belongs in the CovioIQ column as an unmet requirement rather than a saving.
Which one to choose
Choose AgencyZoom if
- You are a US agency, and especially a captive agent
- You need live AMS sync rather than a CSV import
- Texting clients from the CRM is part of how you sell
- Your producers need a native phone app
- You want a comparative rater connected to the pipeline
Choose CovioIQ if
- You are a Canadian brokerage
- Renewals and retention are the problem, not lead volume
- You need a French interface, not translated marketing
- Client data has to stay in Canada
- You are one to five people and $149 a month for seven seats is the wrong shape
- You can live with CSV import while the BMS connections are built
Look at it before you decide
The demo runs on a sample book, so you can see a populated renewal pipeline and a churn score with its reasons without signing up.
