Insurance renewal management with a pipeline that fills itself
Every active policy enters the renewal pipeline 90 days before it expires, carrying a churn-risk score and the reasons behind it. Nobody sets a reminder. Included on every plan, starting with Solo at $49/month.

How renewal management works in CovioIQ
1. Policies enter on their own
Import your book from CSV or add policies by hand. When an active policy is within 90 days of expiry, it appears in the renewal pipeline automatically.
2. Each renewal is scored
Every renewal gets a 0–100 churn-risk score from premium change, client tenure, policy count and time since last logged contact, with the reasons shown. Scores of 70 or higher are flagged at risk. Broker judgment required.
3. Work it through the stages
Move each renewal from upcoming to contacted, quoted and renewed, or mark it lost. Log calls and tasks against the client, and see the whole renewal book in one place.
What's included, and what isn't yet
90-day renewal pipeline
Every upcoming renewal in one view, sorted by expiry date and churn risk, across personal and commercial lines.
Churn-risk score with reasons
Premium change, tenure, policy count and time since last logged contact, weighted and shown beside every score so you know who to call and why.
Stages, tasks and notes
Upcoming, contacted, quoted, renewed or lost. Tasks and call notes stay on the client record.
Client reminder emails: not yet
CovioIQ does not send renewal emails to your clients today, and there is no per-client reminder cadence setting. Gmail and Outlook sync are in development.
Group benefits and group insurance renewals
Group plans renew on a date like everything else, and the work that gets missed is the same work: starting early enough, knowing which accounts are at risk, and keeping track of who has been contacted. The renewal pipeline handles that part.
Read this before you import
There is no group-benefits policy type. The available types are auto, home, life, business, health and other. The CSV importer files anything labelled group or benefits under health, so that is where group plans will appear in your book.
That is a labelling limit, not a tracking one. Renewal dates, churn-risk scores, stages, tasks and notes all work normally. If you need group separated from individual health for reporting, put it in the policy number or the client record and filter on that.
What the pipeline does for a group book
- Surfaces each plan 90 days before its renewal date, without anyone adding it.
- Scores churn risk from premium change at renewal, tenure, policy count and time since last logged contact, and shows the reasons. These are rule-based estimates and still need broker judgment.
- Tracks each plan through contacted, quoted, renewed or lost, with notes and tasks on the client.
What it does not do
CovioIQ does not build renewal packages, pull rates, run the marketing of a group renewal, or communicate with plan members. It does not email your clients at all today. Those stay with your team, your BMS and the carrier portals. What you get here is the list, the timing and the follow-up trail.
Insurance renewal automation FAQs
How does CovioIQ automate insurance renewals?
When an active policy is within 90 days of expiry, CovioIQ adds it to the renewal pipeline on its own and scores its churn risk, with the reasons shown. Your team then works each renewal through contacted, quoted and renewed. CovioIQ does not email your clients or contact them on your behalf.
How do I automate renewal tracking for group benefits or group insurance?
Record each group plan as a policy with its renewal date and the pipeline will surface it 90 days out like any other line. One thing to know first: there is no group-benefits policy type. The types are auto, home, life, business, health and other, and the CSV importer files anything labelled group or benefits under health, so that is where your group plans will appear. The outreach itself — renewal packs, rate negotiation, employee communications — is still done by your team; CovioIQ tracks who has been contacted, quoted and renewed.
Can CovioIQ prepare renewal packs for a regional brokerage?
No. CovioIQ does not generate renewal documents or pull carrier quotes. It tells you which renewals are coming, which look at risk and why, and keeps the follow-up in one place. Documents and quoting stay in your BMS or carrier portals.
Does this work for personal lines as well as commercial?
Yes. The pipeline treats every policy the same way, and you can filter by line, expiry date or risk score. Cross-sell suggestions currently cover auto, home, life, business and health.
Is renewal tracking available on the Solo plan?
Yes. The renewal pipeline and churn-risk scoring are included on every plan, starting with Solo at $49/month. There are no add-ons for it.
Included in Solo at $49/month
No add-ons, no upsells. Renewal automation is available on every plan, starting with Solo.
