CovioIQ and AMS360
These are not alternatives to each other, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. AMS360 is an agency management system. CovioIQ is a CRM layer that sits on top of one.
The short answer. If you run AMS360 and replaced it with CovioIQ, you would lose your accounting and your carrier download, and we would not get them back for you. If you run AMS360 and want a better renewal and retention workflow on top of it, that is a real conversation — with one significant caveat below about Canada.
What each one is
AMS360 is Vertafore's agency management system. Their product page, read on September 27, 2026, describes it as connecting people, processes and data in one management system, spanning client and policy management through to agency accounting and integrations, and it lists carrier download for new policies, endorsements, claims and renewals. That is the system of record for an agency.
CovioIQ is a CRM: client and policy records, a renewal pipeline that fills itself 90 days before expiry, rule-based churn and lead scores with their reasons shown, and a sales pipeline. It has no accounting, no carrier download and no policy administration, and it is not going to acquire them.
Three things CovioIQ will never do
- Accounting. Trust accounting, the general ledger, commission runs and carrier reconciliation are management system territory. We track a commission rate and amount per policy; that is not the same thing and we say so in detail.
- Carrier download. Policies arriving automatically from carriers requires relationships and certifications built over decades. CovioIQ imports by CSV.
- Policy administration. Endorsements, certificates and the documents a carrier expects. We hold a policy record; the management system holds the policy.
The caveat, and it is a real one
The natural next question is whether CovioIQ connects to AMS360 so the two work together. It does not. There is no AMS360 integration, and none is in progress. Getting your book into CovioIQ today means a CSV export from AMS360 and an import here, which is a real piece of work and it is not live sync.
Our integrations page lists the management systems we intend to connect to, all marked planned with no committed dates, and AMS360 is not among them — because our focus is Canadian systems and AMS360's own product page does not mention Canada.
If you are a US agency running AMS360, the honest answer is that Vertafore's own AgencyZoom is the CRM layer built to sit on it, and we have written a comparison against that which is a much more relevant page for you than this one.
When this page is the wrong question
If you are searching for AMS360 because you need an agency management system, CovioIQ is not on your list and should not be. The guide to what an AMS does is more use, and in Canada the systems to look at are Applied Epic, Vertafore SIG, Acturis and Power Broker.
If you have a management system and the problem is that renewals get missed and nobody can see which clients are at risk, that is a CRM problem and worth ten minutes of the demo. Deciding which of those two sentences describes you is the actual question, and CRM versus broker management system walks through it.
